A proud moment, grown one greenhouse at a time
"Seeing our lettuce on Target shelves is a proud moment for everyone who helps seed, grow, harvest, and pack our greens," said John Halle Jr., Director of Sales & Operations at Sunswell Greens. "There's a dedicated team behind every package, and we're excited to bring that care—and fresh, Florida-grown butterhead—to more dinner tables across the Southeast."
For Target shoppers, that translates into a tender, mild-flavored butterhead grown right in their region, suited for everyday meals from salads and sandwiches to lettuce wraps.
Building on a Southeastern foundation
The Target launch builds on Sunswell's existing presence across the Southeast, as the company continues looking for ways to widen distribution and build long-term relationships with retail partners.
"Our goal is to build lasting programs with retailers who see the value in premium, regionally grown greens," Halle added. "This launch is an exciting step for Sunswell, and we look forward to bringing our year-round growing capabilities to more retail and foodservice partners."
Growing indoors, under controlled conditions, means Sunswell isn't at the mercy of a single season. The greenhouses adapt as the weather changes, shading, venting, and filtering as needed, so the harvest keeps coming whether it's January or August. That consistency is part of what's made it possible to expand into new stores like Target without missing a beat on quality.
Perfect for your next meal
If you're in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, or North Carolina, keep an eye out for Sunswell butterhead the next time you're filling your cart at Target. It's grown close to home, picked for flavor over flash, and ready for whatever you're making tonight—salad, sandwich, or straight off the leaf as a wrap.
